| Technology Whiz - No Flush Urinals |
Sometimes you come across bizarre, innovative new products that make you wonder, "How the heck can they do that"? We feel that way about the Waterless No-Flush™ Urinals. We're aware that they're not aimed at the residential market but the technology involved is worth a closer look. No-Flush™ urinals resemble conventional wall-hung fixtures but function on gravity flow and use absolutely no water. They don't require a water supply or flush valve and connect to standard 2" drain lines. They use the EcoTrap™ principle.
It works like this:- Urine flows down into the patented EcoTrap™ drain insert.
- In the EcoTrap™, the urine passes through a floating layer of BlueSeal™ liquid which forms a barrier that prevents sewer vapors from escaping to the rest room atmosphere.
- Urine under the barrier layer overflows into the central tube of the EcoTrap™ and runs down to the conventional drain line.
Gravity and science work together in a new way that make a huge difference in water consumption, hygiene and maintenance.
Major Benefits:- Total Water Conservation - Can save between 20,000 to 60,000 gallons per year.
- Elimination of odors - The urine is isolated by a layer of BlueSeal™ liquid that floats over the top and creates a barrier
- Better Hygiene - Bacteria require water to live. Waterless Urinals are dry and flushless. There is NO spray because there is no flush.
- Reduced Maintenance - No flush valve to break or stick.
- Drastic Cost Savings - No water or sewer charges.
- Inexpensive to Operate - EcoTrap™ (it's biodegradable) lasts approximately 7000 uses. BlueSeal™ liquid is about $1 per 1000 uses
- No winterization costs - Pours at -65 degrees Fahrenheit
An office of 25 males using one urinal 3 times per day (260 days per year) at 1 Gallon per flush would save nearly 20,000 gallons of water in a year. That's major. Now imagine the savings when the Waterless No-Flush™ Urinal is installed in Auditoriums, Convention facilities or Interstate rest areas. You begin to see the impact.
Technology can and does make a difference in managing the resources of our world. Right around the corner may be the next brilliant invention that helps us over our energy/conservation hump. Maybe it will be a Urine-Less Urinal??
