 December 2004: Thanks from WattBusters

From all of us at WattBusters, we would like to thank everyone who purchased energy-saving products in 2004.

We've learned a lot about the reasons that people change old products for new.  The motivations were not as cut and dry as we had originally thought.

The main reasons that people bought energy efficient products was to save money/energy.

For most people, it's difficult to separate the two. With energy costs continually rising, money equates to energy.  Leaking windows cost you precious dollars as your heat seeps out.  Incandescent bulbs burn energy 3-4 times faster than compact fluorescent bulbs.  Every hot shower heats up water that goes down the drain. WattBusters customers we're in tune with these issues and their decisions helped them save a bundle.

The next reason we discovered was an ecological one.  The population is much more aware of our impact on the environment.  The consensus seemed to be that since we're going to use energy, let's use it more wisely.  Every energy-hogging device creates a higher demand for electricity, which in turn means more electricity has to be produced and more pollutants are released into the atmosphere by power plants. Clean air and water remained a major theme and a large percentage of WattBusters customers cited environmental impact as their main reason for purchasing more efficient technologies.

Some of our customers just wanted products with special applications and specific features.  These factors alone made the investments worthwhile. The Fresh2 odor eating bulbs, full spectrum compact fluorescent bulbs, photocell wall packs, special task lights and massaging showerheads were part of this list.  We were also surprised by how many people wanted colored CFLs!

There is a portion of the WattBusters population that loves cutting edge technology.  Although LED lights are still in their infancy, there was no shortage of people wanting to try these extremely low wattage bulbs.  We also sold lots of the  new LED sensor lights.

Finally, we come to the WattBuster customers taking action to improve their home environment.  The interest in the Equaliz-Air unit has been unbelievable.  The unit can help reduce dangerous radon gas and alleviate negative air-pressure problems in the home.  Glenn Haege, America's Master Handyman has mentioned the Equaliz-Air on his national radio program and that has helped spur sales. It's good to know that we have hundreds of satisfied customers finally being able to enjoy their homes.

Whatever the reason for your energy-saving journey, WattBusters wants you to know we appreciate your business and we'd like to wish every one of you a very Happy New Year.
